Aaack! I knew the swindlers would have one more prompt for me! I suppose this means you'll have to read more of my awesome writing then, huh?
While working on my externship project, I realized just how helpful it is to have the plethora of resources available at HTHI. Working with iMovie (the buggiest video editing software I've ever used, mind you) has shown me how beneficial it is to have an editing program that isn't right rubbish. It would have also been helpful to have peers review the video's progress, as input from only one or two people can be very limited. Teamwork makes the dream work!
The most admirable trait I've witnessed from the people working at the shelter is the ability to compromise. Working at the shelter and putting up with wretched El Cajon scumbags is no easy task, so it requires a thick skin. Sometimes we can't always get what we want, so we have to come to an agreement with someone (no matter how rude they are) to maximize productivity. I think a trait like this would help me immensely if I wanted to get a Zoo job.

While my view of life beyond high school didn't change much over the course of the externship, my previous beliefs were reinforced. What are they, you may ask? Life as an adult isn't as awesome as everyone makes it out to be. There are twists, turns, hardships, and bruises. Just remind yourself that EVERYONE experiences at least a little of that. I think, though, that we can reduce the amounts of those, can't we? That's why I believe that people should look for a job that benefits both themselves and the community in at least some capacity. The world can get better one step at a time!
While this doesn't exactly have to do with my externship, I finished up my political science college course this week. During the class, my peers would sometimes compliment me for my ability to study various sources and give a compelling argument. This, combined with the fact that Trump decided he wanted to ruin the ecosystem this week, has made me consider becoming a climate change lobbyist. I think this would be a good career to pursue during my time in college if I find out that the Zoo isn't the place for me.
Well, that covers just about everything. I'm going to be honest, I thought externship was a lot of fun. I'm going to miss these witty blog posts. :'( On the bright side, I have a present for you. See that video below this paragraph? That's my 100% completed shelter training video. Have a watch if you fancy!

Thank you so much for following my shelter adventures on the blog. This may be the last thing I write for school before I go off to college, so if that's the case: farewell, my friend.
