With my first day of externship behind me, it's time to reminisce and reflect on today's findings!
What struck me about the animal shelter was the wide array of personalities that each of the dogs possessed. Some were calm and collected, some were sleepy, some were incredibly nervous, and some just wanted to have fun! Dog behavior is going to be an important factor in the training video, so this was a welcome discovery.

One thing all the volunteers and employees at the shelter had in common was their good senses of humor. It can be emotionally taxing to work at a shelter, so it's nice to see a good bunch of people that can stay happy and help all of these animals out.
While I'm recording all of the footage for the training video at the shelter, I've decided I'm going to edit it and put it together at home. The shelter has computers in the office, but I want to make the video with iMovie, a program that the shelter does not have. Plus, it'll be easier to do voiceover without a bunch of barking in the background (or perhaps that would add to its flair?).
I've already got a good amount of dog behavior footage for my video, so I'm off to a great start! I've made an outline for the voiceover and matched it up with the footage I'll be using. I also got some suggestions from Diane about more stuff to add to the video, such as how to clean up messy kennels and which doors to lock or leave unlocked.
That's it for today's blog post. Remember, I post every Tuesday and Thursday. I hope to see you again in a couple days!
