Unless there was some small text in the contract, this should be the last blog post! It sure was a wild ride at the shelter. Let's see if I can contain all of its awesomeness in one post!
Who writes these prompts, anyway? "How did you measure the success of the work you did?" I'll tell you how, sister: I either did my work right the first time, or kept trying until I had done the best possible job I could! What I learned from this is that I am great! ᕦ( ⊙ ∧ ⊙ )ᕤ
I feel I made a meaningful contribution to my workplace by coming in and helping to take care of the dogs. The staff is always really busy with the many tasks at the shelter. Having someone come in to spend time with the pups is not only helpful for the staff, but it also helps the dogs stay happy. While I may not be able to help out every dog in the world, every little bit helps.
I think the training video I made will help potential future volunteers get their bearings at the shelter. The various rules and methods of the shelter can be a lot to take in at once, but hopefully the video will make it a bit easier.
Coming to the shelter everyday gives me a sense of purpose. A lot of the time while I'm not at school, I get very lazy and sleep or play video games. Having the chance to help out my community makes me feel like the work I'm doing is actually meaningful. I hope that I can have a future career like this.

The work I did at the shelter was meaningful to my education because I learned about different kinds of animal behavior. This will be helpful if I get a job at the San Diego Zoo because I'll already have had a jump start on reading animals.
I feel like question 5 is the same as question 3, am I wrong? I hope so, because this is all the answer you'll get out of me for this one! BTW, if anyone knows how to embed a flash Pac-Man game on Weebly, notify me ASAP!
The idea for the training video came about after looking at the volunteer handbook. An outdated eyesore, it was! I figured it was time we modernized the training program a bit, considering they're building a new shelter. I was in charge of filming, editing, voiceover, and music, while my mentor Diane provided input and topics for me to talk about.
One thing I learned about my work ethic is that, once I start getting into the groove, I'm an unstoppable working machine! No time for video games or hanging out, it's time to get down and dirty! I hope that this work ethic reflects in my training video and exhibition.
That's it, folks, it's time you were on your ways! Maybe you'll get a juicy bonus blog post somewhere down the line, but don't count on it! Thanks for reading!
