Hey chum. I know the prompt said we have to write about self-advocacy, but everyone's just so darn nice to me here! Instead, I'll tell you a little about how I and the other volunteers have advocated for the animals.
One of the volunteers who comes in advocated for a dog by requesting that it be moved to a different kennel. This was due to the fact that the dog was directly in the sunlight in his current position! Too hot! Luckily, the volunteer's prayers were answered, and the dog got to move. America 1, Communists 0!
I like to advocate for the dogs that the general public brushes aside. Many dogs may come across as aggressive and scary. People will sometimes not look at a dog because of this, but since I've been able to have hands-on time with all of them, I know that they're just full of energy! I'll tell the people to give the dog a chance and take another look at it, and it seems to change their opinion every time. Yay!
Making the training video has allowed me to manage my time all by myself, which I'm pretty good at, I'll have you know. I'm a big boy! While I do the voiceover and filming work by myself, I'll occasionally get input from my mentor to make sure it's accurate and high quality. We have good respect towards one another, so I'm happy to hear the critique!
That's it for today, but before you go, take a look at this selfie of me and my chihuahua pal.
